Delivery of the Best

In a first-ever move, the Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry has awarded a joint Exceptional Service Award.  Recipients of the February Award were Jason Dunmall and Todd Youman of Dalby’s Australia Post branch. Ready with smiles and a dedicated approach to customer service –  it is no surprise that the pair were recognised for the monthly award. Working together for eight years, a key part of their role is Australia Post’s pick-up service for business postal items and pamphlet mail-outs.
When asked what he enjoys about his role, Jason replies, “The beauty of a country town like Dalby is that we get to know our customers on a one-on-one basis. We deal with a lot of different businesses and have met some really great people.”
Todd adds with a grin, “We take the role seriously – but we have a bit of fun along the way. Our job is made easy because we have a really great team here.
“You don’t expect to get recognised. We just go about what we do and always aim to do it well,” says Todd.
The larrikin charm of the two was evident after spending some time in the mail room, a hub of activity as the daily sort took place. Deft hands sorted all manner of mail items, and the upbeat working environment seemed to be infectious. Priding itself on low staff turnover, Dalby’s Australia Post boasts a massive 250 years worth of dedicated commitment between some 11 full-time staff. Branch manager Brian Tindall is extremely proud of not only Jason and Todd, but of all his team.
“Our formula is simple, we pick the best people, set the goal posts – and the rest takes care of itself.”
