‘Friendly’ services grow

Locals will now have the opportunity to receive medication advice without leaving home thanks to a new initiative from the Dalby Friendly Society Dispensary (FSD).

Experienced pharmacist Rosemary Williamson, who joined Dalby FSD in May, is offering Home Medication Reviews (HMRs) for eligible patients who have been referred to the service by their doctor.

As one of only 28 pharmacists in Australia to be certified in Geriatric Pharmacy, Rosemary is a welcome member to the growing FSD team.

Pharmacist-in-Charge David Gath said this was just one of the many new services now being offered by FSD.

With a recent report finding that the prevalence of diabetes in Australia is on the increase, and type 2 – in particular – reaching epidemic proportions, FSD was keen to address the local need.  It is pleased to now be able to offer products and services as an agent with the National Diabetes Services Scheme.

The pharmacy is also offering the successful Betty Baxter weight loss program and has already seen some fantastic results with locals already losing weight on the program.

With 25 years pharmacy experience, David said he was proud to have joined such a progressive organisation.

“FSD offers customers a comforting feeling - like they’re part of one big family, at the same time they receive expert advice, and modern services and products.”

Whether shopping for prescriptions, weight loss products, or even giftware, you can be sure that any of the 22 staff at FSD will greet you with kindness and genuine respect.  It’s no wonder the pharmacy that so many refer to as “friendlies” is continuing to grow.
