Diamond Tough Driving | Len Patti Mitsubishi Dalby
Mitsubishi has long been associated with motoring success with its range of on-road and off-road vehicles. And here in Dalby the company is well represented by Len Patti Mitsubishi.
Len Patti has served the Dalby region since 1983, and is now expanding to cover the Surat Basin as well, according to branch manager David Plumb.
David, who has been with the company for 20 years, is proud of the range of vehicles offered, from the ubiquitous Lancer that has been a fun vehicle for Australians for decades, to the tough 4WDs developed through punishing events such as the Dakar Rally.
“They do call us the home of 4WD,” says David.
“And here adventure starts with the new ASX and continues through the Outlander, Challenger, Pajero and Triton.”
The ASX is a small AWD - it is available in diesel - that is very attractive to people who like a small car but still want the traction features.
Its bigger cousins Triton and Pajero are most popular in this region.
“We sell a lot of Tritons to the mining companies, and you also get the families who like it for the convenience of having a ute and a wagon in one.
“The new Challenger has been going really well. It has the same 4WD system as Pajero but is not quite as big. Buyers like being up high and the ease of towing caravans.”
Triton, Challenger and Pajero all have three tonne towing capacity.
“The Pajero is particularly popular with the ‘grey nomads’,” according to David.
For action of a different kind, you can’t go past the Evolution.
“The Evolution rally sports car can compete in legal motor sports, yet be fully comfortable at home driving around town,” David says.
While action, fun and adventure are catered for across the Mitsubishi range, safety comes first and foremost.
The Lancer range, for example, has 11 variants representing the pinnacle in small sedan safety standards and technology that earns a five-star ANCAP safety rating across all models.
To top it all off, the Mitsubishis are being recognised nationally for their superiority.
At the Wheels Magazine 2010 Gold Star Cars Awards, the ASX and Pajero took first place and Lancer VR Sportback and Lancer VRX second place in their respective categories.
