Downs Sheet Metal is one company that is meeting the growing demand for well-constructed, durable Aussie work equipment producing heavy duty toolboxes that come with a lifetime warranty.

Branch company, DSM Tool Boxes, utilises the latest computer-aided design and laser cutting technology at its Dalby factory to create over 300 different models.

Company director Mick Pearson started making toolboxes around 19 years ago and these are still in use today.

As requests for industrial strength toolboxes grew, Mick established DSM which now distributes nationally and overseas, including local stockist Sunstate Ag.

“People who buy our toolboxes like the fact that they are made to the highest Australian standards and are suitable for utilities and trucks as well as mining and earthmoving vehicles.”

To speed up production of the toolboxes, DSM Laser Cutting was formed two and half years ago and now produces precision-cut components for well over 30 companies.

“Our laser machine enables us to accurately cut flat material and is one of the largest of its kind in Queensland.

“It also features a Rotary Axis capacity for etching and cutting intricate shapes into pipe and RHS lengths.”
