Wings and wheels
The skies and roads of Dalby will light up on October 27 and 28 when the exciting Wings and Wheels event hits town.
Organising committee spokesman, Peter Farquharson said the inaugural event was set to become one of the premier air and car shows in Queensland.
“Dalby is a perfect location for this event, we have wonderful weather, a flat landscape, safe skies and great community spirit.”
To be held at the Dalby Aerodrome, the event will feature fantastic air and ground displays, and visitors will have the chance to buy an experience - from joy rides in aircraft to a spin on a Harley Davidson.
Hot air balloon rides also be a available for those who would prefer to enjoy a more leisurely pace topped off with a customary champagne breakfast.
On the ground, there will be a showing of some of the country’s best cars – including hotrods, classics, vintage cars and go-karts – as well as market stalls, entertainment and children’s rides.
It’s rumored that Dalby Town Mayor Warwick Giesel will be there with his Torana A9X, as well as plenty of others bringing some really unique and special cars and bikes.
Throughout the weekend, the sky will come alive with the arrival of all kinds of craft such as hang-gliders, mircolights and trikes, sailplanes, and a range of experimental and recreational aircraft.
A highlight of the Wings and Wheels event will be the Saturday night ‘hanger bash’ – a chance for locals and visitors to get together and let their hair down with food and wine and entertainment.
The event well help raise much-needed funds for supplies, equipment and facility upgrades at Beck Street Kindergarten - a not-for-profit C&K Association Kindergarten. Additional funds raised over and above what’s needed for the kindy, may be donated to a worthwhile cause or charity.
