Some of the world’s best meat is produced right here on the Darling Downs and no one knows that better than Terry Grundy.
A butcher for 20 years, Terry and his wife Lisa became proprietors of Culberts Meats three years ago with the aim of providing top-quality, locally produced meat to the Dalby market.
And there’s no doubt they are delivering on that promise with the Culberts team recently taking home the ‘Best Beef Sausage’ (Outback Region) title from the recent Australian Meat Industry Council sausage competition.
Terry says the secret behind the success is low fat, quality meat and experienced staff.
“Our meat is produced on the Darling Downs, individually selected, and delivered every week so freshness is guaranteed.
“All our staff are trained butchers and have learnt the traditional skills that ensure a quality product.”
Meat cuts are made to order while hams and bacons are wood smoked on the premises to deliver a true authentic flavour.
For meals in a hurry Culberts offer “ready to cook” and “ready prepared” products such as beef rissoles, lasagne and chunky beef family pies as well as party treats. There’s also a delicious range of herbs, spices and condiments.
And if you can’t make it to the store phone orders and home deliveries are available.
