Jimbour to host Qld's first 'A Day on the Green'

With music-lovers still raving about July's Opera, Jimbour Station's new amphitheatre will be the setting for another first-class event to be held on Saturday October 29.

This is the first time the national event series, A Day on the Green designed for music-lovers who appreciate the experience of combining quality music with fine food and wine in some of the most picturesque wineries in Australia, has come to Queensland. An awesome Australian line-up has been put together to kick off this first show in fine style.

"We're very excited about taking A Day on the Green to Queensland and think we've found a perfect venue in Jimbour House. We hope that the people of South East Queensland will embrace the event as we'd love to make it an annual event like our other shows," said promoter Michael Newton. Set in 4,000 acre grounds with a gracious historical home, the spectacular Jimbour Station is the classic bush setting for an outdoor sunset concert. While enjoying the surrounds, guests will have the opportunity to delight their palates with Jimbour Wines, one of the brands leading the burgeoning Queensland industry. From the very first A Day on the Green in Victoria in October 2001, it has gone from strength to strength to become one of the most popular and fastest growing outdoor events in the summer concert calendar.

More than ¼ million people have attended the 55 A Day on the Green concerts to date, including 25 shows last summer featuring artists Elvis Costello, Bryan Adams, Pete Murray, Paul Kelly, Norah Jones, and Diana Krall. Now Queenslanders are set to enjoy the A Day on the Green experience too with Pete and Kasey continuing the event's prestigious line-up of talent. All A Day on the Green events are fully licensed - strictly no BYO. Food is available on site - picnics, rugs and deck chairs recommended.

Standard general admission ticket: $75.90 plus b/fee. Reserved general admission (BYO deck chair or rug): $99 plus b/fee Children under 12 are free (general admission area only). Tickets are available from ticketmaster.com.au and 136 100 See www.adayonthegreen.com.au.
