Customers Crazy about Nicholas

He may be only 21 years of age, but Nicholas Hoare has cracked the code when it comes to delivering exceptional service. It's all about the little things - taking the time to lend an ear, share a smile and give a helping hand.

"I love to be able to make our customers happy. If they come into the store unhappy I aim to put a smile on their face before they leave."

Now in his fifth year at Crazy Clarks Dalby, Nicholas has advanced to the position of assistant manager. His responsibilities include stock processing, coordinating floor stock with catalogue specials, merchandising and maintaining office procedures.

Another important part of his role is to supervise staff and Nicholas takes pride in leading by example. It's not uncommon to find him walking a customer to their car with a heavy item or making deliveries in his own time.

"The customers just love him. He's a familiar friendly face and they know they can rely on him," said Manager of Crazy Clarks Dalby Cherryl Eldridge.

Recent customer, Australian Cottonweek Coordinator Liz Ryan, was so impressed with Nicholas's willingness to help that she nominated him to receive the Dalby Chamber of Commerce Exceptional Service Award.

Receiving the award for February 2005 was a pleasant surprise for Nicholas who didn't realise how much customers appreciated his help. "Even now it has sunk in, it's still WOW! Thank you."

Born and bred in Dalby, Nicholas enjoys the country atmosphere, the familiar faces and having the opportunity to be friends with customers. As for a future in the retail industry - well that's a certainty!
