Moving with the Times
For almost 65 years the wheels have kept on turning at Johnson’s Dalby - a trusted family owned and operated local automotive business.
The business dates back to 1947, when founder Mr Allen Tresillian purchased the garage portion of Johnson’s Hardware, then located in Cunningham Street, and established Johnson’s Garage to service vehicles and supply fuel for the local community.
In 1948, when GM Holden began producing its first Australian car - the FX 48/215 - Johnson’s proudly became one of its first Australian dealers. And the close affiliation with Holden still remains today.
The business continued to flourish and in 1956 Johnson’s Garage was relocated to Drayton Street and new premises erected to allow for the business to expand into what it is today. Allen’s son, Ian Tresillian, was appointed Dealer Principal in 1981. Together with wife Judy and son, James, Ian continues to build on the business which now also incorporates a Nissan dealership.
“The cars may look and drive differently to how they did back in the early days, but our dedication to our customers has not changed,” says Ian.
“One thing that has been with us since 1947 is our commitment to meeting our customers’ needs by offering the best possible service and continually looking at ways to improve our service.”
It’s a genuine approach that has stood the test of time.
“We are proud to boast second, third and fourth generation customers in our client base. We are grateful for the loyalty and support of our customers, and the relationships we enjoy with them. And we are always eager to prove our high level of customer service to new customers,” he adds.
But it’s not just customers who have shown their loyalty. The Tresillians are quick to pay tribute to their team.
“Our staff, some of whom have been employed here for over 50 years, have been the backbone of our continued high levels of service.”
Johnson’s is committed to the local community, supporting local businesses, charities and sporting associations.
This connection with the community, the high standard of service together with the modern showroom and the latest technology are bound to see the business continue to drive on into the future. |
