When it comes to shoes, handbags and stylish headpieces, Schrecks Shoe Store has been presenting the latest season trends together with sought-after classics since 1902.

The store has been operated by only two families - the Field family (47 years) and the Schreck family since 1949.  Current owner Mauneen Hartman (nee Schreck) is proud of her family’s long association with the store and Dalby.

“Originally my father, Kevin Schreck purchased the store from Cyril Field who stayed on for another 11 years to ensure his customers received their usual personal service. Personal service is the key ingredient,” says Mauneen.

“As you get to know your customers, you soon discover their own personal style – ensuring you show the right shoe or accessory first up,” says Mauneen.

Mauneen prides herself in having something for almost every style and occasion.  The approach has seen Schrecks become a shopping icon with people travelling from hours away for unique and practical designs at the right price.
