Traditional work ethic

You could say painting is in Vic Lewis’ blood. He learnt the trade from his father, his brother is a painter, as are his two sons. 
Also in his genes is a traditional work ethic that has seen Vic receive a Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry Exceptional Service Award.

“I started out by going to jobs with Dad on a Saturday morning. He taught us that we had to work hard to earn a few dollars.”
After running his own painting business in Brisbane for over a decade, Vic and his wife made the move to quiet acreage on the Western Downs. He took up the brush for Shane Buckley’s Painting Service where he’s been for the past 11 years.

“It was good to think that someone would nominate me for this award, but it’s really for everyone in the company – we all do our bit.”
Vic was nominated by a client who had been impressed by how he had taken the time to fix something before painting it, how he kept the job site tidy and his care and consideration.

For Vic, the key to success is simple. “Take pride in your trade and treat customers the right way.”
