Manufacturing the smart way
Within Dalby’s demanding manufacturing environment HR and KG Thomas P/L is one company that is finding it pays to work smarter.
Dalby Plasma Cutting Services is a new division of this successful local manufacturing firm using Advanced Robotic Technology to produce superior parts with speed and accuracy.
The high-tech shift has boosted production levels within the primary company - which manufactures mining, crushing and recycling equipment – and created a branch business that is now available to local operators.
Workshop supervisor Errol Thomas believes the new A.R.T. plasma cutter offers huge benefits to businesses that currently hand-produce steel, stainless steel and aluminium parts.
“One of the major benefits of the plasma cutter is that it drastically reduces labour time as this machine can produce parts in a tenth of the time.
“Because it is produced using the CAD/CAM profiling software, every piece can be identically reproduced so you know it’s going to fit. This allows maximum material use and minimal wastage.
“It is also extremely accurate and will cut metal ranging from .5mm to 32mm with a clean, quality finish.”
Errol believes other manufacturers could reap similar benefits from the service and is inviting local businesses to trial this high-performance air plasma cutting technology.
“If they supply us with an item that they hand produce, we’ll reproduce it on the plasma cutter to demonstrate the quality and affordability of our service.”
For businesses that still employ traditional cutting methods, this could be an offer that is just too good to turn down.
