Celebrating 10 years of business excellence

Dalby businesses seeking recognition and inspiration are setting their hopes on the 2005 Heritage / Dalby Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards .

This year Dalby is celebrating the 10 th anniversary of the awards, making it the longest running business awards in Southern Queensland and a model for other regions.

Chamber President Michael Webber said the awards, supported by Heritage Building Society since their inception in 1995, aimed to acknowledge, promote and support local businesses.

"The awards play a valuable role in maintaining momentum and enthusiasm in the local business community.

"We see this as a positive way to encourage businesses to strive for success and inspire them to come up with new and better ways to serve their customers," Michael said.

Arthur Martin, Managing Director of Martin Design and Drafting, Business of the Year for 2004, said the award gave their business a boost.

"Winning the award gave us recognition from the local community and confirmed that our approach to provide consistent quality service to our customers was working."

"It was quite amazing how far the news of our win spread. We've had customers as far away as Emerald congratulating us on our award and it led to a profile on our firm being included in a national industry publication."

The recognition has helped the business as it prepares to expand into the South Burnett region, and provided valuable motivation for staff.

"Our employees were really excited by the award, it's given them added incentive to keep up the high standard and continue to find ways to improve the business.
