The secret to healthy eating may be this simple - eat great food.

Dalby Health Foods proprietors Bryan and Lyn believe that incorporating a variety of tasty traditional foods into the daily diet can add real flavour in a healthy way.

During a recent quest to source the world's best culinary traditions Bryan and Lyn travelled to Melbourne where they discovered a range of authentic Greek, Lebanese and Turkish foods.

"People like to eat healthily but they also like to eat well. These cultures have a tradition of eating healthy foods that offer a wonderful diversity of flavour and are also very nutritious," Bryan said.

They are now preparing to host the 'Little Middle Eastern Food Festival' following the successful 'Little Cheese and Olive Festival' held earlier this year.

The festivals are sponsored by the Long Paddock Deli branch of Dalby Health Foods and are a pleasurable way of keeping customers up to date with all that the store has to offer.

"We have a selection of fantastic Australian cheeses and popular Greek cheeses such as fetta, Kefalotyri, Kasseri and Kefalograviera."

Popular Middle Eastern treats such as falafel made from stone ground chic pea, herbs and spices; roasted egg plant dip known in Lebanon as Baba Ganoush; and the classic Greek caviar dip Taramousalata are now in stock.

Many of the dips are made fresh on the premises ready-to-serve and there's even the opportunity to try before you buy.

"The idea of the Long Paddock Deli is to involve customers in the selection of our food products. Listening to our customers is important to us and makes the shop more interesting for everyone," Bryan said.

The store offers a wide variety of health foods together with an extensive range of complementary health care products, natural vitamins and health supplements.

The Little Middle Eastern Food Festival will be held at the store on June 18 from 3.30pm until late and people are welcome to come along at any time.

"We plan to stay open after retail hours on the day so people who work also have a chance to join in," Bryan said.

Dalby Health Foods and Bulk Supply, located at 123 Cunningham Street, is gaining repute among food lovers with a range of delicious products that are gourmet and good for you.
