Service with a smile
Giving customer service that leaves a lasting impression comes easily for Loretta Foster. As a keen sewer and patchwork quilt maker, spending her days consulting on fabric, haberdashery and the retail range at Thrifty Fabrics barely constitutes work.
“I enjoy my job, it is great to come to work to do something you love,” admits Loretta.
Her friendly and warm approach to serving customers was recently recognised when she received the Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Exceptional Service Award.
Loretta enjoys developing relationships with the clientele who frequent the store. “It’s nice to be involved in the process of seeing things progress from start to finish,“ she says. “Customers who have bought fabric return to show us what they have made, and we get just as excited to see the end result.”
Thrifty Fabrics has been trading for 14 years and is housed in one of Dalby’s original main street stores, offering customers a unique shopping experience. Owners Marion and Wendy Jiggens are proud of Loretta’s award, and her dedication over the past nine years. “We are extremely pleased for her, she really does deserve this recognition,” says Wendy.
For Loretta, learning to sew not only became a favourite pastime, but a job to treasure.
