Chamber Shows Its Strength

The Dalby Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc (DCCI) has seen significant changes over the past few months – some strategically planned and some unexpected.
The strengths that have been ingrained in us by our predecessors - in our 100 year old Chamber - have allowed us to meet the challenges presented by the 2010/11 floods and help our region to unite. The ability of this community to tackle head-on this adversity and go forward from strength to strength is truly humbling.
The Management Committee has, in recent months, implemented a new Constitution for DCCI to ensure we continue to deliver training, networking and communication opportunities to our growing member base.
DCCI gratefully acknowledges the drive, passion and initiative brought to the committee by those who retired from their positions in 2010. This includes retiring President Roz Skerman, Life Members Carl Milford and Michael Webber, and Committee Members Jim Charlton, Mauneen Hartmann, Amy Schutt, Ian Rasmussen, Paul Hodda and Gavin Walton.
The new Board of DCCI aims to Promote, Connect, Support, Inspire and Build Capacity for our diverse membership base through a range of initiatives – some new and some that have stood the test of time – to forge a path for the growth, prosperity and success of our community.
Noel Brownsey of Aland & Co, with his extensive management experience has stepped into the role of President with Ben Suttor (Rabobank) taking on the Vice Presidency. Megan James of BMO will continue her editorial responsibilities with @Dalby Magazine and add Secretary of the Board to her credentials, while Matthew Ostwald (Ostwald Bros) continues to offer his industry and management expertise. We also welcome the attributes that new Board Members Glen Hay (Hays Jewellers); Bruce White (White Industries) and Debbie Lee Nicholls (WHK) as Treasurer – have and will continue to deliver to members in the months ahead.
If you’re not already a member of DCCI, please consider coming on board and help us to work together keep the spotlight on Dalby.
