A long standing reputation for excellent service and innovation in floor coverings has brought a well deserved accolade to the Andersens Dalby team.
Named the company’s Store of the Year 2010, they stood tall among the 52 other stores in the chain which has sites from Toowoomba to Cairns. Andersens is a family owned company with its head office in Gatton.
For franchise owners Trevor and Julie Nimmo, the award is recognition of service to the Dalby district since 1993. Trevor has been with Andersens for 20 years, managing the company-owned Dalby store until 1999 when they bought the franchise.
“There are lots of awards, but the ultimate one is store of the year,” says Trevor.
Store presentation, customer service and quality of workmanship are among the hallmarks of this vibrant local business that has steadily grown to meet floor covering and window furnishing demands across the whole Surat Basin.
Their long serving, experienced staff and subcontractors ensure clients - whether home renovators, major builders or the State Government’s Q-Build - experience quality from their first consultation.
“Andersens is recognised as the respected name in floor coverings,” says Trevor. “I think that comes through with being honest and up-front about products, quality and installation.
“And our installers and subcontractors leave the job thinking that if that was my home, would I be happy with that.”
Andersens’ product range has grown from the original carpet and vinyl range to include tiles, floating timbers and laminates to keep up with changing decorating trends.
Recently blinds, awnings and shutters have been added to the product range and are proving to be popular.
“We are fortunate to be part of the Andersens' group,” Trevor says.
“Our marketing committee travel a lot attending all the trade shows here and overseas to keep up with trends.”
Having everything under one roof means no running around to different stores to match colours and styles.
“People are now a lot more savvy in their decorating. If they have seen something in a display home or magazine then we have to know what it is.
“We pride ourselves on that.”
