Rabobank proud to call Dalby home

Ideally situated on the Darling Downs, Dalby is a thriving rural community with a diverse local economy and that's what makes it so attractive to the people at the local Rabobank branch.

Dalby is home, offering an appealing mix for them on both a professional and personal level.

Branch manager Michael Webber describes it as a lifestyle choice.

“For me, Dalby has everything.  It's a major centre for the Darling Downs and Western Queensland regions as well as being a rich and diverse agricultural sector.

Michael is a familiar face to most people in the Dalby region having lived locally and volunteered his time with community groups such as the Chamber of Commerce for many years.

He is also well known in the rural banking fraternity thanks to a successful career that has spanned over three decades.  Nowadays Michael is extremely happy that he can work in his chosen profession and remain in the region that suits his family's lifestyle.

Rabobank's rural managers Chris Ellem and Ben Suttor have also purposely chosen to work and live in Dalby.

Chris believes Dalby is a great place to work, especially for a rural banker.

“There is still that small town friendly feel, but the diversity of our work makes it very rewarding and challenging."

One of the appealing things for Ben when he first joined Rabobank was the fact the position was in Dalby.

“I wanted to come to Dalby and I really enjoy working with business people from the wide range of industry located here."

Michael is proud of the fact that the nature of Rabobank's business allows his professional staff to live and work in rural regions like Dalby.

“Our finance officers Naomi Cox, Petrea Smith, Natalie Budden and Katrina MacMillan are all professionals. They could work in any major city, but they choose to live in Dalby

“It's great that they can do this without compromising their careers.”

Natalie, originally from Chinchilla, joined Rabobank last year after a stint overseas.

Michael says she joined Rabobank because the career opportunity appealed to her and she liked the idea of being able to maintain a rural lifestyle in Dalby.
