Above: The Street Parade and children's amusements are all part of the Spring Temptations

The temptation of fresh regional produce, gourmet delights and full-flavoured wines is as close as spring.

Dalby Spring Temptations is a festival for lovers of fine food and wine celebrated in the picturesque surrounds of Thomas Jack Park.

`A taste of Dalby' themes the festival's street parade where schools and businesses proudly showcase the region with colourful floats, waving hands and wide smiles.

Follow the clowns as they join the parade down Cunningham Street and on to the park where the entertainment continues into the night.

The day offers a wonderful opportunity to sample great food and wine while you sit back and watch the roving entertainers or enjoy live music by country rock singer Nellie T.

Food houses will present a smorgasbord of tasty local produce like prime Darling Downs meat barbecued on the spot and served up as tasty kebabs or burgers.

Boutique wines from the region's burgeoning wine industry will be there for the tasting. Partake of the smooth whites and full-bodied reds that have been winning acclaim at major wine events.

Become a coffee connoisseur as Alan Don of Chipironi Mountain Coffee reveals the art of great coffee making.

For garden lovers there's the chance to learn about horticulture as local experts Barry Robinson and Joe Garnham present a few tips for spring gardeners at the festival's garden show.

Browse through the market stalls for local olives and oil, jewellery, hand-crafted furniture and a variety of crafts to suit all tastes.

Local talent will go on show as part of the entertainment line-up while youngsters will enjoy the stilt walker, magician, rides and other children's amusements.

The day also features a baby show so dress up those beautiful babes and help raise funds for Dalby's Little Theatre.

This fun-filled event on September 11, starts with the midday parade and runs through to the evening so there's the chance to join in for lunch or dinner.

And on Friday night, September 10, don't miss the `Bug Checkers' Ball' that kicks off the weekend festivities.
