A beautiful building is something we all admire. But how can we be sure the end product matches our imagination?

Martin Design and Drafting employs sophisticated building design software that allows clients to explore their building in virtual reality while still in the design stage.

The company's design team is trained to listen carefully to customer needs and has the professional knowledge, skill and resources to bring building concepts to life.

A string of Building Designers' Association of Queensland awards across various categories over many years is testimony to the quality of service the company provides.

One of Dalby's most outstanding buildings, the Russell Tavern, won Martin Design and Drafting the judge's commendation at this year's BDAQ Regional Awards and was designed using the latest computer software.

"Our clients were able to view all the tavern rooms in day and night settings and even turn lights on and off as they took a virtual tour of the building," Arthur said.

Three-dimensional computer drawings are electronically delivered to a wide client base that extends throughout Queensland.

From a home office beginning Arthur Martin and his wife Yvonne, who handles the company's administration, have built a thriving business that this year celebrates its tenth birthday in Dalby's CBD.

"I started working from home in 1991 and three years later we moved to 42 North Street. We've been 10 years in this building and are now planning further expansion to cater for existing and future growth," Arthur said.

While the main client base is south west Queensland, the Burnett region and the Darling Downs, the company has worked for clients from as far north as Normanton, west to Eromanga and everywhere in between.

The company is able to complete most design projects including residential, commercial, industrial and civil design.

Three full-time building designers and one trainee are currently employed and another designer is being sought to meet increasing demand.

Thorough staff education and training are a vital aspect of the company's success and all TAFE or University qualifications can be completed externally while working from Dalby.

The company provides a wide range of industry services and offers extensive knowledge on the latest building products to keep clients well informed on all the available building options.

"Whether it's a toilet block, a small extension or a multi-million dollar project we offer the same quality of service to ensure the best outcome and value for money."
