With the introduction of on-line auctioneering it is possible to attend auctions and clearing sales throughout Australia without ever having to leave the office.
Dalby-based Queensland Machinery Auction Services principal Graham Eccles made the decision to embrace on-line advertising and auctioneering services as a way to open up the market place both nationally and abroad. The company introduced on-line services about 12 months ago expanding upon its traditional auctioneering approach.
The move has allowed the company to increase exposure of goods and obtain a quick turnaround at more of a national market value than just local values for both buyer and vendor. Mr Eccles said the on-line services were proving popular with many customers but the company continued to offer traditional auction services for for Clearing Sales and their Machinery Yard Auctions Real Estate and consignment sales those who preferred the traditional way of selling.
The innovative internet marketing concept was developed in co-operation with joint venture partner R P Data who wrote the code for the program , host the website and offer 24-hour support to deal with any problems that arise. "They keep it in the air and we run the auction the way we would any traditional auction," Mr Eccles said. "Our area of responsibility as the licensee and facilitator is to co-ordinate the sales. "We make sure all the legal aspects are in order, that the goods are unencumbered and guarantee the title for the buyer unlike most other internet auction programs we hold Corporate Auctioneering Licenses all monies are handled through a trust account .
Mr Eccles is a rural sales specialist with over 20 years experience. A self-made businessman, he was born in Dalby attending the local high school before continuing his education in Toowoomba and completing a real estate course. His extensive experience in rural property began when he started selling rural properties and conducting clearing sales for Dalgety Winchombe. Graham became manager of Raine and Horne in Dalby and later purchased the company developing it into a large rural-based selling office and establishing the largest inland machinery auction centre in southern Queensland at that time.
After selling the Raine and Horne office in 1990 Graham concentrated on the machinery action centre renaming it Queensland Machinery Auction Services. The company is now a major machinery auction centre servicing the earthmoving, agricultural and transport industries either on site South West Qld , North West New South Wales or at their Dalby location.
