Home Hardware now opens every Sunday from 9am to midday offering a range of affordable products that ensure weekend renovators aren't caught short.

The store also opens until 1pm on Saturdays giving workers and shoppers an extra hour to gear up for those weekend renovation tasks.

Home Hardware offers exclusive lines of competitively priced products, such as Plumbworx with its range of attractive fittings that are proving the popular choice for many home-handy men and women.

Specialist staff are on hand to offer expert advice on all lines available at the store including paint, power tools, electrical goods, timber and a wide range of hardware products.

Home Hardware is the new label for the retail side of established family business Dalby Hardware and Plumbing.

David Smiles, who co-manages the business with his brother Peter, said the family company decided to join the Home Hardware buying group to become competitive on price and to encourage more people to shop in Dalby.

"We realised that if we were going to keep business in Dalby then we needed to be price competitive and we needed to offer a wide range of products for people to choose from.

"As part of the Home Hardware group we have access to 40,000 lines of product all competitively priced," Mr Smiles said.

And the move has paid off with increased sales and new customers travelling in from surrounding areas to shop in Dalby.

The retail store complements the original Dalby Plumbing Works, established by David's father Henry Smiles in 1968, that continues to operate out of the adjacent building.

The retail side of the business was set up in 1983 and gradually expanded over the years so that by 1995 separate premises needed to be built. Then in 2003 the building was extended to double its size and opened as a fully labelled, fully computerised Home Hardware store.
