The Pioneer Park Museum in Black Street has an array of memorabilia including Ned Kelly's letter to his mother, automotive, early fashions, household goods, an extensive rock, mineral and fossil collection, as well as one of the largest collections of working tractors and agricultural machinery in Queensland. Following the Warrego Highway, drive under the coal loading facility at Macalister which services the Wilkie Creek Open Cut Coal Mine. Grain and cotton crops are grown seasonally in the area. Entering the small township of Warra, visit the Warra Country Cottage for antiques, jewellery and a cuppa, as well as the Warra Heritage Centre which hosts different displays throughout the year. Explorer Ludwig Leichhardt and his party camped beside Cooranga Creek on 4 October 1844, and a campsite monument has been built in his honour. Have a cool drink at the Warra Pub before following the signs to Jandowae, a small timber town renowned for its biennial Timber Festival in June. Spend some time at Athlone Cottage (circa 1890), the Boomerang factory, or why not check out one of the country hotrels - The Top Pub, The Middle Pub or The Bottom Pub. Heading back towards Dalby, don't miss Jimbour House and Jimbour Station Winery, where you will stroll through the beautiful gardens and gaze at the majestic sandstone home built in the late 1800's.
