In and Around Dalby

Gallery 107 holds regular exhibitions and is found in the Cultural and Administration Centre. Take the Heritage Trail or experience the serene natural beauty whilst walking along the path of the Myall Creek - feed the ducks and geese along the way and don't miss the Aboriginal art murals on the building immediately adjacent to the footbridge.

Pioneer Park Museum
Memorabilia includes Ned Kelly's letter to his mother, automotive, early fashions, household goods, an extensive rock, mineral and fossil collection, as well as one of the largest collections of working tractors and agricultural machinery in Queensland. The Museum has a crafts store and is home to the Dalby Genealogy Society as well as the Dalby Spinners and Weavers Group. The museum is open daily from 8 am. [More..]

Agriculture / Energy
Dalby has 2 cotton gins, with the Queensland Cotton gin at Cecil Plains. Summer crops include cotton, sorghum and mung beans, whilst wheat, barley and chick peas are grown during the winter months. Grain silos are a common sight, as Dalby is the largest rural grain receival centre in Queensland. Livestock properties and feedlots co-exist beside coal mines and power stations. A visit to the Dalby Wambo Saleyards, the largest single day selling centre in Australia on Wednesdays is suggested.

For those a little more adventurous, take an instructional flight in a glider from the Darling Downs Soaring Club field near Bowenville (Ph 46637140).
