FOR 2009 ONLY: JIMBOUR TRACTOR is
housed at the Pioneer Park Museum.

The Clayton Shuttleworth tractor was imported by Mr W Ewing in 1913 for farming crops of wheat, barley and oats on the Jimbour Plains. The tractor is powered by a 3 cylinder engine of 60bhp (45kw). The tractor runs on kerosene, a cheap fuel at the time. The tractor has forward and reverse gears, but with a poor power to weight ratio (weighing 10tons) could only pull a plough of 8 ft to a depth of 8 ins. The tractor finished its working life clearing farm land of trees in the Jimbour district. It was moved to a shed erected especially to house it at Jimbour township, near the State School. It is believed to be the only surviving example in the world.

Another very rare tractor that will accompany the Clayton Shuttleworth is a English Marshall (F) class of 70bhp. (52kw). This Marshall tractor upon arriving in Australia was put to work in Central Western Queensland where it was used to cart wool to the railhead, plough firebreaks and pull wagon trains over many years. It gave sterling service. Mr Nev. Morris purchased this machine some years ago and did an excellent job of restoration, bringing it up to operational condition, so the public of today can observe how rural industries worked yesteryear.

You've really got to see it to believe the vast collection we have on display!

The Machinery Sheds house possibly one of the largest collections of operating tractors and agricultural machinery in Queensland.
